Case study / Full stack
Web Development at Volusion
Full-stack features for an e-commerce SaaS platform, from storefront UI to REST APIs and integrations.
Overview
As a Web Developer / JavaScript Engineer at Volusion (2015 – 2017), I developed and maintained full-stack features for an e-commerce SaaS platform, working across frontend interfaces, backend APIs, relational databases, and third-party service integrations.
What I built
- Responsive web components using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and server-side application logic to support online store management workflows.
- RESTful API endpoints for product catalog, customer, order, inventory, and checkout-related features.
- Service integrations for payments, shipping, email, and analytics that made day-to-day store operations easier for merchants.
- Reusable components and documentation to improve development consistency across the team.
Technologies
- Frontend: JavaScript, HTML, CSS
- Backend: REST APIs, relational databases
- Integrations: payments, shipping, email, analytics
Impact
I optimized database queries and backend logic to make the app faster, more reliable, and easier to maintain. I worked with product managers, designers, QA engineers, and senior developers to ship features in an Agile environment, and pitched in on code reviews, bug fixes, release support, and production troubleshooting.
